Spring is upon us meaning no more heavy jackets and clumsy shoes. It’s with mixed feelings that we’re forced to face the return of the sun. As the temperature rises we greet our spring closet with open arms. But the fear is inevitable: What if I’m not ready stylistically? Don’t worry; I’ve got you covered! I’ve listed the top five essentials to a stylish spring closet.
1. The Perfect Jacket
The bomber jacket has made its comeback and while we’ll always love it in black, I wouldn’t turn down a military green, dark blue or even an old fashioned pink one.
A classic leather jacket will never go out of style but for the fun of it, why not try a new color? Purchasing an expensive designer leather jacket is more of an investment than anything else! Go check out Acne Studios, you won’t regret it!
We couldn’t be happier that the sun is finally shining (at least in Stockholm) and a walk on the town requires protection for the eyes! Cat eyed, oversized, round, classical Ray-bans; there’s so much to chose from! I’ve got a pair from Marc Jacobs that go with everything.
3. The Bag
The it-bag of this season must be Chloé’s cross body bag with the to die for ring decoration. The one on the picture is a budget version (you’ll find it here) as well as the one I got my hands on from ZARA. They’re both stylish and comfortable!
As soon as the ground dries up we hop into those sneakers. We also do everything in our power to keep them perfectly white. We’ve said goodbye to Converse (they’re our plan B shoes) and welcomed NIKE and Adidas to our everyday wardrobe. Managing a stylish look is all about what you pair them up with. Make a cute dress more edgy with Adidas on your feet and brighten up an all black outfit with a pair of colorful NIKE’s.
5. Boyfriends Jeans
Some of you might be surprised by this garment but it really is a must have in every fashionista’s closet. A pair of boyfriend jeans can be styled in so many ways. You can either go for the full on I just got from my boyfriend’s and this was all I could find or you can dressed it up with a cute blouse/knitted sweater and/or some jewelry and a stylish handbag.
Make a list on everything you need and want to get the ultimate spring closet. My advice is to purchase all the “big pieces” first (jacket, shoes, pants) and make the fine adjustments later on (jewelry, bag, sunglasses etc.). That way you can always rock an old white t-shirt with your new bomber jacket or a pair of shiny shoes with a plain dress!
