It is so important to take chances in life, whether it’s attempting to bake a cake or going on a continental road trip into the unknown. There will be times when things don’t go to plan; and there will be times when they really do. But if we don’t take the risk, then what comes of it? Nothing but regret and the feeling of ‘what if’, that’s what.
It’s easy to take the option that’s presented to you on a plate, which is why so many people settle for less. Ask yourself, am I achieving what I want out of my life? Am I ending my day with a sense of fulfilment? If the answer is mostly no, then it’s probably time to take a risk. After all, nothing great is achieved without a little struggle.
Setting goals at any age, for any time IS achievable. If you want to travel, make plans, don’t just dream. If you want to be your own boss, again, work towards it. You alone have the power to make your dreams a reality. Whether it takes months or years, you can achieve them. Take the risk, and it might be the best thing you’ve ever done. Take the risk, and it might not. Remember that failure is something that we need to build greatness, so don’t let it stop you.
It is such an important lesson to not be afraid of failing. Through failure, we learn what works, and what doesn’t. If we didn’t fail, would we ever learn? Probably not. It’s through failure that we gain the knowledge that we take with us through the rest of our lives.
Even if we fail a good few times till we find what works, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s good in fact, it shows our perseverance. Some of the greatest people to walk this planet failed excessively before they achieved greatness, and they’d never have gotten to where they are now if they hadn’t kept trying. Then trying again!
Most of the time, people don’t want to take the risk because they’re comfortable where they are. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with this, in fact I myself envy it. But a lot of people I know are comfortable in being unsatisfied. This just isn’t right, and no one should feel the need to settle for less than they’re worth. So take a chance, and do something different. Be someone different. Wear something different. You should never be afraid to break the boundaries.
